APRIL: A MONTH OF SACRIFICE AND CELEBRATION

As we step into April, we reflect on the greatest act of love—Jesus giving His life for us. This month as we fix our eyes on Him, reflecting on His sacrifice and celebrating the power of His resurrection. The power of His resurrection to set us free from the bondages of sin, doubt, fear.

Below is a testimony from a former inmate. Because of your love, support, prayers and time she is walking in freedom that only Jesus provides.

“When I was incarcerated in Adams County Jail, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I felt lost, discouraged, and disconnected — not just from my family and the outside world, but also from God. During that time, the Bible study, Alpha class, and church services became more than just something to pass the time. They became a turning point for me.

Each of those programs helped bring me back to God in a real and personal way. The Bible study gave me a place to learn, ask questions, and understand Scripture in a way I never had before. The Alpha class helped me explore my faith more deeply and reminded me that God’s love and forgiveness are always available, no matter where we are or what we’ve been through. And the church services gave me hope. They helped me feel peace in a place that can often feel heavy and overwhelming.

What made the biggest impact, though, were the women who ran these programs. They showed up with kindness, compassion, and no judgment. They treated us with dignity and respect. They shared their knowledge and wisdom, but they also listened. They cared about us as individuals, not just inmates. Their encouragement helped me see that I wasn’t defined by my mistakes — that I still had purpose, and that God still had a plan for my life.

The programs helped me begin rebuilding my relationship with God while I was still incarcerated. I found strength in prayer. I found comfort in Scripture. And I started to believe that change was possible for me.

Since leaving in May of 2025, that impact has stayed with me. I’ve continued growing in my faith and have been living differently. I’m more mindful of my choices. I turn to God during hard times instead of trying to handle everything on my own. The foundation that was built in those classes didn’t stay in the jail — it came home with me and continues to guide my life today.

I’m incredibly grateful for the Bible study, the Alpha class, and the church services, and for the women who faithfully showed up to pour into us. They brought light into a dark place. They helped me reconnect with God. And they helped me leave not just as someone who served time, but as someone who was changed, hopeful, and moving forward with faith. I genuinely appreciate all of you individually for taking the time out of your busy lives to show the love of Christ in this world but especially in the jail.

Sincerely, a transformed life B.W.

A new Recovery Bible Study with Chaplain DuPhily has started!

We’re excited to announce that our Recovery Bible Study is now underway! This study is being led by our Chaplain of Christian Ministries, Rachel DuPhily - whose own journey through recovery brings both lived experience and deep compassion.

This study is designed to support and encourage participants at every stage of their journey. Using the Life Recovery Workbook by Stephen Arterburn and David Stoop, the group will walk through the 12-step process grounded in biblical truth and practical reflection. Recovery matters because so many in the incarcerated population struggle with substance use. This Bible study offers not only spiritual grounding but a supportive space to begin the hard but hopeful work of recovery and transformation.

Each week, inmates are reminded that freedom is possible, healing is real, and God is still in the business of restoration. Please pray for the individuals participating, our DOCM, and that God will use this study to set some on a path of total freedom in Christ. #RecoveryIsPossible

APPRECIATION BASKET FOR THE
CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS AND STAFF

The staff at ACACC are an amazing group of people. They serve our county as Correctional Officers and they are dedicated to the task at hand. ACPM has been providing a basket full of treats to the staff to let them know that they are appreciated and they are prayed for by our supporters. Snacks are purchased from the local grocery store, placed in the basket, and then put out for the staff to help themselves. A sign with the name(s) of the contributors is placed with the basket. If you or your church would like to support the appreciation basket, please prayerfully consider making a donation to this project. Many thanks to our donors and to the men and women that serve at ACACC.
